Excellent food and wonderful menu choices. The ONLY complaint I have is the terrible country music out on State street that permeates the whole area like a two week old dead rodent decomposing between your walls on a hot summer's day. I believe that Redlands wants to cater ONLY to rich, white, racist, ultranationalist, fascist rednecks because anyone with even a meager amount of taste would find Redlands' choice of the musical equivalent to forced prison rape, intolerable. For me it's one of my PTSD triggers. Luckily, I brought my back-up pair of earphones and listened to Chopin's Nocturnes, ELO and Pink Floyd.

The hype is real... The State is where it's at! Hubby and I like trying new spots, so we landed on The State this time around and I'm so glad we did. We went on Saturday afternoon and got seated right away. We loved that already we also loved that it was so fresh inside, it was a hot one that day so anywhere where the AC was pumping was perfect for us! Hubby ordered a burger on their specials menu, that had brisket and a burger on it and he loved it. Said everything was cooked perfect. I ordered The Drunken Pig, and when I say I still have dreams about it to this day... man oh man was it delicious! Ordered it medium and it came out perfect with such great flavor. Also Hubby and I both loved their fries there. Perfectly crispy with good flavor. We'll be back for sure!

Let me start off by saying yum! The food was excellent and everything we ordered was on par! Spiral mac and cheese, state burger, state salad, onion rings, fried chicken and waffles. I would totally eat here again even though we were overcharged and paid regular prices, as opposed to the listed brunch prices. We didn't notice until after we got home but next time we will be sure to check before we leave.

Finally visited The State on a Tuesday Night. It was the perfect place for date night. It wasn't packed & the service was great. My husband and I arrived at around 8:30 & were seated immediately. I loved the dimmed lights & loved that they were playing alternative indie rock. Not too loud which was perfect, you can still have conversations. My husband ordered the Irish pub burger. He said it was very flavorful & good. The fries were delicious! I had the Velouté Chicken. The sauce was very good & the chicken so tender & juicy. The mash potatoes were a little bit on the dry side but I mixed it a little with the chicken sauce and made it better. I really liked this place, I would love to come back and try something else in the menu & would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try it.
